Recent research has explored the psychological and neuroimaging processes that underlie altruistic motivation, as well as the egoistic counter-dynamics that can lead to hesitancy to help. Studies have also examined the effects of childhood abuse and neglect on prosocial behavior, and the relationship between boredom and aggression. Additionally, the mechanisms affecting employee knowledge hiding from a workplace friendship perspective have been explored, as well as the influence of hypocrisy paradigms on discrimination.

Other studies have looked at the mediating role of moral disengagement and the moderating of gender in the relationship between Dark Triad and cyber aggression, the influence of CEO birth order on firms' CSR behaviors, the contagion effects of cooperative models, the effect of Dark Tetrad traits on victimization, the impact of social entrepreneurs’ mindfulness upbringing perception on social entrepreneur orientation, the effect of exposure to different consequences of prosocial behavior on subsequent prosocial behavior, and the effect of motivation configurations on innovation behaviors.
